SEO steps for optimization the website or blog in digital marketing

Imagine you wrote an excellent article on a topic related to your business. You already have 70% of the work done so that this article begins to appear well positioned in Google. Now 30% is missing that is to optimize that article for SEO.

We will show you the main actions we take before publishing an article on the Blog considering Digital Marketing & Seo trends. Here is the detail of this process in 7 steps.

1. Main keyword in the article title

Before starting to optimize an article, it is necessary to know for which key phrases we want to optimize it. By optimizing an article for these phrases, your article will be more likely to appear in Google when people search for those phrases in Google.

Once you know which key phrases you want to appear on Google for, it’s time to find out how they appear in the title. For example, if you want your website to appear in Google when people search for “vegetarian food in India” you could write an article with the following title: 10 best SEO website in India .

It is important that the content of the article is related to the title. An article will not appear well positioned in Google for only having the key phrase in the title.

2. Main keyword in the title tag

The title of an article and the title tag are two different things. Always use main keyword in your article when you start a blog or website. The first is visible to the person who reads the article and the second is something that is written for search engines like Google.

Like the title, it is important to include the key phrases when writing the title tag. Google considers this one of the most important internal factors when indexing and ranking your page.

We recommend writing a title tag that is between 55 and 70 characters long and contains at most 2 similar key phrases. Here is the structure we generally use:

KEY PHRASE 1 | KEY PHRASE 2 | COMPANY NAME

The title of the article may be different from the title tag. For example, the title does not have to carry the name of the company or it may be longer than recommended by Google. Not so the title tag.

3. Main keyword in the meta description

Although the meta description tag does not directly influence the positioning, it is good that it is optimized and that it includes the keywords as well.

The length of the recommended meta description is 155 to 165 characters, occupying up to two lines. In this space write a summary of what content the article has and the benefits of reading it.

4. URL slug

It is very important that the keyword, in addition to being in the title and description, is also included in the URL of our post.

But what is the slug of a URL?

The slug is the part that identifies a specific page within a friendly URL.

In principle, there is no limit to the length of a URL slug, but it is recommended that it be short for two reasons:

  1. A short URL will be much easier for the user to read and understand than a long one.
  2. The positioning capacity of a word in a URL is lower the further to the right of the URL it is and the more words the URL has.

5. Weight and format of the article images

It is key to optimize the weight and size of the images before uploading them to the article, since these directly affect the loading time of the page. And in this sense there are two important points to take into account.

  1. Size and resolution: It is recommended that images do not exceed 1280 px in size. And that the resolution is adapted for the web (72ppp).
  2. Image format: You have to choose the appropriate format for each type of image, the most recommended and most used are JPG (ideal for photographs, banners, etc.) and PNG (ideal for illustrations or icons with transparent backgrounds).

6. Label “alt” in images

The “alt” attribute or alternative text is basically a text that describes an image. We use it to give Google information about what information an image contains. This helps Google better index an image and the site that contains it.

If you examine the html code of a web page, you will see that it generally appears as follows:

<img src = »image_1.jpg» alt = »red shoes»>

7.  Include keywords within the text

It is very important to include the keywords within the text of the article, at least 3 to 4 times . The idea is not only to add them anywhere, but it must be done in a natural and understandable way. One way to include keywords in the content of the article without the need to saturate the text, is to use synonyms or variants that are similar to our key phrases.

This 7-step process will help you get the quality content you write indexed and displayed by search engines like Google and increase your position at top of the search engine from your competitor. This all things leads to increase your website organic traffic or sales and also boosts the authority of your website. So follow these SEO steps to optimize your website or blog.
