Cookie Policy
A complete inventory of every cookie and tracking technology used on our site, what each one does, and how to control them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — like your preferred language or login state — and can also be used for analytics and advertising.
We also use similar technologies (local storage, pixels, server logs) for the same purposes. For simplicity, this policy refers to all of these as "cookies."
2. How we use cookies
We group our cookies into three categories based on what they do:
Strictly Necessary cookies
Required for the website to function. Cannot be disabled. These do not store personally identifiable information.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
seospot_consent | theseospot.com | Stores your cookie consent preferences | 12 months |
seospot_session | theseospot.com | Session identifier for form submissions | Session |
Analytics cookies
Help us understand how visitors interact with the site so we can improve it. All data is aggregated and anonymized.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Persists session state | 2 years |
Marketing cookies
Used to deliver advertisements relevant to you and measure their effectiveness across other websites you visit.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Tracks visits for ad targeting and conversion measurement | 3 months |
li_sugr | Browser identification for ad delivery | 3 months | |
bcookie | Browser identifier for LinkedIn services | 1 year |
3. Your consent choices
When you first visit from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you'll see a banner letting you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored for 12 months. You can change it anytime by clearing your browser cookies for our site, or by emailing us.
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site can't function without them. We do not need consent for these under GDPR.
For visitors outside the EU/UK/Switzerland, our default behavior follows local law. California residents can opt out of any "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising at any time.
4. Third-party cookies and services
4.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use our site. Data is anonymized (IP truncation enabled) and used only in aggregate. Google may process this data in the United States and other countries.
To opt out site-wide, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4.2 Meta (Facebook) Pixel
When you consent to marketing cookies, we use the Meta Pixel to measure ad performance and show relevant ads on Meta platforms. You can adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings.
4.3 LinkedIn Insight Tag
With marketing consent, we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag for B2B ad measurement and audience building. Manage your LinkedIn ad preferences at linkedin.com/psettings/advertising.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies. Here's where to start:
Disabling cookies may break some site functionality. Strictly necessary cookies are essential for forms and basic operation.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of cookie-based tracking, equivalent to selecting "Reject all" in our consent banner.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we add or remove tracking technologies. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will trigger a fresh consent prompt for affected visitors.
